Woods White with fire
Poems of Shantiam
Walking by the River
Flow, Czorhass
flow, great river
carry my hopes far down to the sea
A walk by the river
on a late summer's day
just the two of us, you and I
wading the tall grass
laughing in the sunshine
in your footsteps each leaf of grass is greener
How I wish
my hands were the breeze
now tousling your dark hair
now brushing your smiling face
making you shake your head
making you grin so mischievously
Playing ducks and drakes
every stone you let fly on the glitter of river
bounces across my heart as well
one two three four five six seven eight
we count aloud together
How I wish
you and I were the waves
riding together across the wide river
lifting each other over the depths
wave riding wave
together
together
Flow, Czorhass
flow, great river
carry my wishes far down to the sea
